About
Hello my name is Syuzanna,
Originally I come from the Eastern part of Ukraine but was born into a Hungarian family.
As a professional musician I received my training in one of the world's finest academies in Kiev and represent the Russian heritage of music teaching and performances.
I moved to America 10 months ago and currently furthering my studies in artistic piano performance at TCU.
I teach piano since my teenage years (I'm 29 at the moment) And have a vast experience in working with all levels and ages.
Many of my students reached professional level and entered music colleges and won prizes at competitions.
I have received 3 post - baccalaureate degrees in music and am fully accredited to teach with all ages and levels.
At the moment I offer private and music school piano lessons. Each lesson includes work on technique, theory, solfege (singing) , music history.
I love to witness the process of growing progress and help my students reach their goals and dreams.
It makes me feel happy when I see them smile and happy after they reach those goals that they thought were do hard to obtain and that they could never do.
I believe in each and everyone and I can promise you there is nothing that you can't do, as long you're consistent, committed and follow your teachers instructions :)

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
On our first lesson I typically assess the student and his or her skills.
That includes music reading (if unfamiliar the basics are explained in the introductory lesson), understanding of rhythm, for more advanced students we discuss a little bit of theory.
We will talk about your goals and what is it the you want to achieve taking this class (includes repertoire which will define the teaching approach I'll be taking in the course of work)
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have 3 post - baccalaureate degrees in music.
My Bachelors and Masters of a music I have obtained in the Ukraine which were followed by two more higher degrees in the United Kingdom.
I'm fully certified to work as music teacher, piano accompanist, chamber musician, solo performer

How did you get started teaching?
It was part of my course at the National Academy of Music in the Ukraine.
What types of students have you worked with?
I worked with all types of students, all levels and ages, and always adapt to the goals of my students
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I was so proud of my student Jay recently performing at our annual school concert where he performed his favorite soundtrack from Star Wars.
When I started working with Jay, he was struggling to play with both hands at the same time and was doubting himself he could do it.
It was a shear joy seeing this young man obtaining confidence in himself and having reached his goal and dream.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
I would advice hiring a processional in the field of the specific instrument you want to master.
Although at first you might not see or understand the difference or you might say - "I don't want to be a processional, it doesn't matter"
But believe me it does!
First of all you will learn quicker and get further in no time with a pro in comparison to an amateur (no matter how good)
Second of all there is a certain ethic to the procedure of learning, which is a lot of the times is overlooked by non- professionals
From this ethic you will learn for yourself much more than just to press the right keys in the right order but instead will take something with you that'll last for a lifetime and might come in useful in other areas of your life.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
You have to know exactly what is it that you want?
What do you need it for?
How much do you need it?
Be exact and specific. Confident. It makes the teachers job much easier to identify how to help you based on your descrition.
