About this pro

Hello!!! My name is Generous George Schauer from Cleveland, Ohio. I played high school basketball and at the University of Minnesota with Dave Winfield, Tony Dungy, and Flip Saunders. I have been a basketball trick artist and instructor at summer camps for 46 years so far. I currently work for the Texas Legends G-League team in Frisco, TX.

I have learned from some of the greatest basketball coaches of all-time! I have created the UP THE LADDER progressive system for practicing  free throws for anyone age 8 up to the NBA! I use my JIMMY SWISH VISUAL TRAINER to teach aiming at the dead-center of the rim on every shot!

I will travel up to 30 miles to you. My fee is 50 dollars total for the first one hour lesson and 40 dollars for each  additional lesson that you would like. You can schedule as many lessons as you like! I never scream or yell and I make learning FUN!   I will give you FREE Texas Legends basketball tickets during the season for your family and friends if you hire me or don’t hire me!!  I teach the 8 and 9 year olds with the smaller ball and a lower hoop. Please call me at 440-749-7739 and I will show you how to become an awesome free throw shooter and improve your overall game! Or send me your number and I will call you!  Thanks!

I love showing players the most efficient way to shoot a basketball! Nobody is better than me at teaching free throw excellence!! I have taught mostly in group sessions and camps, but the one-on-one teaching  is what I enjoy most! I do not reveal my secrets on the internet... lessons.com is the perfect way for me to get clients!!  My Jimmy Swish device is given to keep, to each iindividual, FREE ( 20 dollar value )  to teach you to aim at  the CENTER of the rim.  I prove to you WHY this is so very important!!  My ONE PIECE theory is the most  efficient shot in the game!! The mechanics I teach are a quick release! I am well worth 50 dollars for one lesson to gain the competitive edge! AND ... you can hire me for more lessons as you improve your skills. For more information please call me at 440-749-7739. Or send me your number and I will call you! Thanks!!

FAQs

What is your typical process for working with a new student?

I come to your driveway hoop and work on your mechanics so there is no hitch or pause in your release... nobody teaches vision training like I do! In just ONE sixty minute lesson I will show you how to practice free throws the best way for the rest of your life and how to have the quickest release possible!

AND... In just one hour, YOU will be able to teach my UP THE LADDER progressive free throw system to anyone who is willing have the patience to start at the beginning and do the steps necessary to improve their touch and skill.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I have 46 years experience as a high school, college, and pro basketball player.... I am sick of watching players on all levels clang free throws as if they never practiced in their lives!! . I have learned the most efficient way to shoot a basketball and how to aim for the center of the rim using my Jimmy Swish Vision Trainer. I have learned from the best coaches ever over 31 years at the legendary Five-Star Basketball Camp. And little tips I learned from the greats.... Larry Bird taught me to always step back after practicing a free throw and to step back to the line as if you were just fouled!! AND he taught me that the BEST START is always ONE IN A ROW!!!! 🏀

Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.

My fee is 60  dollars for a one hour session for one person. If you want to bring another person or two other people to llearn, that is OK as well. You can share the cost. You can schedule me for as many lessons as you like for more drills to improve your skills!

I travel within 40 miles of Frisco, TX. All you need is one ball and a hoop in your driveway, or a playground or gym nearby.

Please call me at 440/749-7739 for more information. Thank you! Nobody else teaches what I teach! You will KNOW your improvement by your progression UP THE LADDER!!!!!

I give you FREE phone follow ups every ten days to check up on your practice and progress and answer questions! I do not just teach and say goodbye! I become your BASKETBALL ADVISOR!

How did you get started teaching?

I have been a basketball  trick entertainer since 1974 and have taught shooting and ball handling at more camps than anyone. My nickname for 42 years was Crazy George until I changed it to Generous George. Sean Miller, basketball coach at Arizona,, learned from me. At age nine he performed on Johnny Carson and mentioned he learned from Crazy George. Go to YouTube and type in Sean Miller on Johnny Carson.

What types of students have you worked with?

I have worked with middle school and high school players, boys and girls, as well as college players. Aiming for the front or back of the rim is NOT the most efficient!! My Jimmy Swish device teaches dead-center aiming which will help any shooter who puts in the daily repetitions!!

Describe a recent event you are fond of.

I love the March Madness and the NBA Playoffs. Everyone loves to shoot the three, but they have to learn to shoot from 5 feet first!!

What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?

Most private instructors and coaches will put you through drills and show you proper mechanics. I do that, but I teach the important fundamental of VISION that nobody else emphasizes, AND I show you how to practice by yourself and how to record your workouts!! You will KNOW if you are improving and it’s in writing!!

What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?

Before you can best use your skills in a game situation, you must start slowly and have patience!
