I have been an artist my whole life. There are many aspects to learning art: theory and culture, history, technique and creative expression.
My favorite part about teaching art though, is watching each person discover their own abilities and unique talents.

My advice would be to think about and let your teacher know what your specific expectations and goals are for your experience are. For example: Do you want to be given a self contained project to complete within one or two lessons?Do you want to learn new techniques that you can take home and practice on your own?
