Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I explain there are no mistakes, just happy accidents to put them at ease. I tell them a little history about wire jewelry. I give them written instructions. I make sure they take lots of photos so this will help them do the piece again at home. We go through the fabrication of the piece step by step. I encourage questions from my students. I explain that they can do this to build their confidence. I am also available for questions later on after the class. I tell them what good job they have done.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am self taught wire jewelry artists. I do have 3 years of college towards an art degree.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
For most basic classes it is about $85 per person with me providing all the materials & supplies.
How did you get started teaching?
Someone saw my jewelry & ask me to them.
What types of students have you worked with?
All kinds, from 8 to 87. Men & women.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
My last class that I taught. The student was amazed she was able to complete her project in class.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Look at the jewelry made by the teacher. Ask questions. For example, how long have you taught? Where?
