About
As a basketball and athletic coach with 20 years of experience, I will strive to assist every student athlete in their pursuit to become a more fundamentally sound student athlete.
I have been playing basketball for over 30 years and I have been coaching basketball for over 20 years. I have been fortunate to coach the game that I love in Oklahoma, Georgia, Texas, Arkansas, Tennessee, and overseas in Bosnia, South Korea, and Iraq. I have trained student athletes from age 4 to full age adults. I have been training and coaching travel basketball teams since 2012. I served as the varsity girls basketball head coach at Memorial Christian Academy in Killeen, Texas from October 2015 to October 2018. I have been serving as the varsity boys basketball head coach at Memorial Christian Academy since October 2018. I hold active certification with the following organizations: Amateur Athletic Union (AAU), USA Basketball (USAB), National Alliance for Youth Sports (NAYS), and the National Federation of State High School Associations (NFHS). I strive to be a continual learning master coach that looks at coaching as a ministry platform to teach, train, coach, and mentor student athletes not only in basketball, but also in life. As a player, I first began actively playing basketball at age 12. I initially learned the game from a cousin (who played AAU basketball) who was two years younger than I was. That is where I learned that no player is necessarily better than another player, but rather some players are simply more experienced than others. From there I developed a love and a passion for the sport that I have shared with countless student athletes over the past 20 years.
As a coach and trainer, I strive to assist every student athlete in their pursuit to become a fundamentally sound student athlete. I learned strength and conditioning from my time playing basketball, running track, and during a 24-year career as a soldier and leader in the United States Army.
As a coach and trainer, I strive to assist every student athlete in their pursuit to become a fundamentally sound student athlete. I love giving back to my community and helping student athletes to succeed on and off the court.
