What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I teach to the needs of the student, balancing developing technique and developing musicianship.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am professor emerita from the University of Texas at Arlington. I have a masters degree in fine arts, and a doctoral degree in cello performance.

How did you get started teaching?
I began working as a professional cellist when I was 15 years old, and have dedicated my life to cello performance and teaching cello.
What types of students have you worked with?
Primarily high school, college, and adult.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Try to have a realistic idea of how much you can contribute to your learning. Will you have time to do practice in order to incorporate the suggestions the teacher is making.? Be honest with yourself and the teacher about how much time you can commit to the process. it’s important for all parties to have a reasonable expectation of the working relationship.
