About this pro

Simply Macramade was born to reintroduce the timeless beauty of macramé with a modern touch. Macramé is a form of art that involves various knotting techniques to create beautiful pieces of art that can be displayed in your home, office, on special occasions such as weddings, or may even be given as gifts. In addition, they make great conversational pieces and can bring elegance to any special event or occasion.

We are a mother and daughter team running a small business located in Houston, Tx. We have over two years of macrame experience. We enjoy teaching workshops and, doubly so, assisting students in achieveing their perfect macrame piece.

There are various knotting techniques that we will be implementing, along with different skill levels.

For example:

-Beginners can learn anything from basic knotting techniques which can result in a plant hanger or wall hanging.

-For our more advanced classes, we offer anything from creating large to extra-large wall hangings to room dividers.

What you can expect during our workshops:

You will have two instructors. One will be your primary instructor and the other will walk around to offer one-on-one assistance to students, if needed. Also, we will provide information about what knots and knotting techniques we will be creating on workshop day. All questions are welcomed and there will be frequent pauses in order to assure that every student is on the same step as the others. Towards the end of each workshop, both instructors will walk around to assist each student.

We share a passion for the arts, especially fiber art, and thoroughly enjoy crafting. This is our hobby, business, and most importantly, passion.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?

We always offer a proper introduction once our workshop begins. Whether we are working with one student or a group of students, every workshop is treated equally. Our pace depends on the class size. The class size determines the number of instructors needed. Smaller classes of 3 or less will only require one instructor. Larger classes will need two instructors to allow for one-on-one assistance, if needed. We understand everyone learns at their own pace and we will make necessary accomodations to make sure each student leaves with an art piece they are proud of.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

We are self-taught fiber artists.

Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.

Each workshop depends on the class size, along with what we will be creating. For example, materials for a plant hanger will cost less than materials for a room divider.

***Please message for any inquiries and/or quotes.

How did you get started teaching?

After a year of just selling macrame online, we were receiving requests for macrame workshops. Our students interests propelled us into teaching. Eventually, we collaborated with Pop Shop Houston | Pop Shop America to do a workshop.

What types of students have you worked with?

We have worked with students of various backgrounds. We are open to ages 12 and up.
