Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
The typical process for me when working with a student is getting them registered, evaluating their needs in dance and working towards their overall goals .
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have 12 years of experience in choreography, musical theatre, and using movement as a form of healing and thearapy.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
Yes I have a standard pricing. I have certain promotions for students. It depends on what classes you are taking. Private lessons are seperate from group lessons or promotions.
How did you get started teaching?
I started choreographing in highschool for different events and programs, I then went on to founding my own dance team at 16 years old. Later after an audition gig, I was asked by a recognized choreographer and dance icon to teach at her studio. I landed my dream job at 19. I continued choreographing and teaching private lessons and even choreographed for musicals. I performed in comedy shows, plays, and fundraising events as a sololist. At the age of 21 I opened my first dance studio which was based around dance, art, theatre and music. As of today we are in expansion in order to reach many others all over and are in the process of opening our performing arts day school.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with all students from ages 12 months and up. I have also worked with students with disabilities and I am certified to work with students with autism and special needs.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
The advice I would give is to choose your instructor based on your passion. Try your first class and see how you feel. Be honest with yourself. Practice makes perfect. The overall goal is to have fun!
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Be open with your needs, what are your goals, restrictions, and triggers. Be honest about past studio experiences and be ready to learn. Mention your goals and desires. Most importantly mention your learning style and pace eith your instructor.
