Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I start with a get to know you session which includes learning the students interests, experience and goals for our time together. I look at any artwork the student might wish to share and we set a plan for our first official lesson. Then we do a little art activity to wind things up.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I was a public and private school teacher for 20 years. I graduated from University of Texas with a Bachelors in Education and I have 24 college credit hours in Art. I have been a lifelong artist doing commissioned artwork and portraits and enjoying many art forms. My newest venture is writing and illustrating children's books. This is the first time I have offered private art lessons.
