About
I have had a decade of experience teaching students of all levels, ages, and backgrounds. When living in New York, I taught music classes at the diverse International Preschool, serving students from all around the world, ages 3-5. Since moving to Houston, I have taught at public, private, and charter schools all around the city (teaching in bilingual, vanguard, ESL, and special needs programs) and have spent the last year using my harp to teach students ages 5-18 at the Monarch Institute, a school for kids with neurological disorders. Additionally, every summer I teach at the prestigious Blue Lake Fine Arts camp for highly talented musical high schoolers.
I am passionate about meeting students where they are at. My students all have unique needs and passions and I love customizing my lessons to serve each student's individuality. We set weekly, monthly, and yearly goals which culminate in an annual recital, where my students can come together and be inspired by each other's abilities.

As a harp student growing up, my lessons were a deep anchor for me - my harp studies kept me grounded, motivated, and gave me a strong sense of pride. More than anything, it gave me a tangible dream and taught me how to find success and reach goals I wouldn't have known how to realize otherwise. I strive to do this for others.
I am incredibly passionate abou tthe harp - about making it an accessible, enjoyable, empowering experience for others, like it was (and still is!) for me.

What types of students have you worked with?
My studio currently ranges from age 5 to age 80 and I have taught students of all abilities and backgrounds. Many of my adult students like to perform regularly in their community and work environments or are working towards goals of becoming music therapists, though some pursue the harp purely as a hobby or "bucket list item."
With younger students, I am a co-director of the Houston Youth Harp Ensemble, a Saturday morning program that teaches a wide array of repertoire to middle and high school students of all levels. I have worked extensively with kids with special needs, as a former young artist with Da Camera of Houston. Through the program, I taught in Vanguard classes, ESL/bilingual programs, and with groups of kids with diagnosed behavioral and communication disorders. And every summer, I teach advanced high school students at Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp in Twin Lake, Michigan.
