Art Threads
About
Our specialty is painting, printing and dyeing on fabric. There are so many possibilities, from abstract to intricate details, and from one of a kind, to multiple prints.
My degree is in fine arts, but I have always created with fabric. I have taught across the US, Japan and Canada with Quilt and Art Guilds and Schools.
You can see my work at www.fabricpaintings.com
What I love is how easliy you can change the way fabric looks. You can overdye it, paint it, silkscreen it- or go to your sewing machine and stitch it.
I started at age 8, learning to sew, as I wanted to make my own clothes. In college I broadened my skills with a degree in art. I discovered art quilts, and wrote 2 books using new techniques. That allowed me to travel the world teaching to Art & Quilt Guilds.
I have 2 websites, www.fabricpaintings.com
& www.makescreens.com.
I look forward to helping you learn and create. I have an amazing studio in Houston.
