Have you ever wished you could learn to draw and paint, but you weren't sure where to start?
Whether it is drawing basics and perspective, or learning about new oil painting mediums, I can help you improve your art skills and your overall creative thinking.
I am a patient and also excellent teacher with over seven years of experience in teaching different types of learners. I have tutored children with ADHD, I have given lectures to college students at universities, and I have taught software user interfaces to CEOs of multimillion dollar companies. I truly enjoy working with each person I teach, gearing each lesson and approach to your style and goals.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
My first step when working with students is to listen. Before starting a lesson, I will listen at length to your goals and ideas so that I can understand how to make sure we make you achieve your creative vision!
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a Bachelor's degree in both fine art and English literature. I decided to double major in these fields because I love art, but I also love storytelling and communicating.
I also have a Master's degree in Literature, and I have experience teaching university students as well as children and adults.
How did you get started teaching?
I began tutoring children and teenagers after college in subjects everywhere from reading to the SAT/ACT test prep.
During this experience, I learned that I really loved sharing new ideas and techniques! Seeing my students succeed and learn something new that they did not know before is

What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
When looking for an art or drawing teacher, be sure to find a teacher that listens to you and who is willing to understand your own personal goals. A teacher who can adapt to your level is also important - it may be that you are a beginner, or you may be intermediate. It is definitely a good idea to find a teacher who understands where you are at in your art journey.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
1. What is the best possible outcome that could happen from taking this course? What is my goal?
2. What do I know so far about this subject? What kind of background knowledge do I have that can I share with my teacher?
3. What have I tried so far to get better at this subject?
