Gestation Design And Instruction
About
I am an artist and educator. As an Art Teacher for Grades K-12 these past 14 years, I have fostered creativity and expressionism in young artists of all ages and ability levels. I have a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the School of The Art Institute of Chicago and a Master of Teaching degree from Dominican University. I am an artist of drawing, painting, and ceramics. I love sharing my passion for Art with others.
I enjoy the creative process, from beginning to end. It is not always about the final output, rather it is about the journey throughout. I especially get excited by my students learning and succeeding. Most of all, that they feel good about themselves when they achieve their goals.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I want my student to feel comfortable no matter what the age or level of experience in Art. I have taught all ages from Pre-K to Adult. I begin by introducing the formal Elements and Principles of Art and Design throughout activities that unlock the creative process within the indivdual. As artists become more and more comfortable while advancing through these exercises, they become more confident and desire to pursue more complex projects in the various mediums of drawing and painting.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I studied Fine Arts at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and achieved my Bachelor of Fine Arts degreee. I have been a Studio Proprietor and practicing Artist of drawing, painting, and book arts for the past 15 years. I received my Master of Arts in Teaching degree and have been teaching K-12 since 2010. I currently teach Grades 9-12.
