We are set apart from other Art Schools by offering individualized step-by-step instruction to complete custom projects that broaden student's abilities and develop their technique. Our curriculum focuses on mastering: form, shape, line, contour, balance, composition, shading, perspective, proportions, value, texture, motion, fore-shortening, negative space and color theory.
Come Meet Our Master Artist Mentor: Thomas S. Cleveland, a Master Coin Designer for the United States Mint, during its Artistic Infusion Program and the Founder of The Artist Within Studio School. Mr. Cleveland's intuitive down to earth and nurturing teaching style originated at The Houston School of Art & Design as one of its lead Instructors from 1997- 2004. Then in May of 2004, he founded The Artist Within Studio School, located in Cypress, combining a working studio and school further refining the program. We utilize the classical method of a Master Artist mentoring students through individualized instruction to pass down our knowledge and experience to students so they can also master drawing and painting techniques to expand their art arsenal, build their artistic confidence, and inspire them to develop their own style. This was how Leonardo and other Masters of the Renaissance in Florence first learned and taught, passing their wisdom down to us.
I enjoy inspiring students by teaching them techniques to realize their untapped talent was always within them waiting to shine through their artwork.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Students crave to learn “REAL ART SKILLS”. Provided with age targeted Individual Instruction and Step-by-Step Demos of professional art techniques, tricks and tips they can create amazing works of art. Instructors provide intro drawing excercises and then assist the student in selecting a custom project that they will work on throughout the classes to learn the various skills and introduce them to various mediums and techniques. Real time instruction while producing works of art for the student's portfolio.

Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
Our summer camp schedule will begin the first week of June, the 4th and runs every week thru the end of August. Camps are Monday thru Friday and separated into 2 hour sessions. The class times available are: 10 AM to 12 PM/ 1 to 3 PM / OR 3 to 5 PM
· A two hour session class for the week is $175
· Half Day 10 AM – 3 PM is $350
· Full Day 10 AM – 5 PM is $525
We also offer once or twice a week 2 hour drawing and painting courses all year round, the monthly rate for four 2 hour classes per month is $150.
