My practice is centered around use of symbols. I explore symbols that have meaning for clients so that their paintings become personally transforming and enriching.

I think symbols are trnasformational and if I may say "magical" meaning that when a student keys into what is a symbolic image, mood, color, memory, image, etc, it activates once it becomes drawn or painted

When this happens, paintings don't just "decorate" (although that is fine if they do) but they become "living" and continuous work in the environment they are in and with those that connect to it-somehow this has been lost in much of modern art as it has become more "intellectual", for me painting was in the beginning about the symbolic life and the life of the soul
