About

I am a native Houstonian who loves art. Although my strengths are mostly in comic/pop art, I have extensive experience in other themes such as portraiture, landscapes, and graphic design. I'm very much the traditional artist because I love working with media such as pencils, paint on paper and canvas, but I also delve into the digital world with apps like Photoshop & procreate. I love to teach & train others, either individually or in a group. I think everyone has some artistic abilities. But remember, art can't be rushed, so patience is 50% of the investment. I've been "artifying" for more than 30 years professionally, and I would love to show others that they can get joy out of their hobby or passion as well. Visit me on Instagram @Wondrousworx or on behance.net/mistered to see more!

I love seeing a blank canvas filled with artwork. I love to see the artwork slowly come to life and the satisfaction of getting what's in my mind onto the paper or canvas. When I do commissions, I'm honored to see the customers light up when I've done a good job for them. I especially love to create pieces of (mainly superhero) art to make prints, which I sell at Comiccons or in comic shops. When I get that call saying, "We need more prints!" It shows me that my art is getting noticed, which is one of the best feelings in the world.

Frequently asked questions

I'll start with standard questions about what their goals are with their art. Then see how dedicated they are to reaching that goal. I'll then assess their level of abilities and start from there.

I went to the Art Institute and received a degree in Applied Art/Visual Communications.

Worked at Gayla industries designing Kites and Mylar Ballons for 10 years.

Worked at Funtastic Toys designing toys/toy packaging and creating all sales materials and catalogs for 10 years.

I create art for commissions and prints for Comiccons and sell prints for over 10 years.

I have taught over 30 people how to draw, paint, and do commercial art over 7 years.

My going rate is $50/hr. That can be negotiated depending on the complexity/simplicity of the project or the budget of the student.

A customer simply asked me if I could show him how to draw and I agreed. Then word of mouth led me to other customers and the rest is history.

from children as young as 10 to executives of major companies. It doesn't matter to me. Art knows no age.

Some had no skills at all and some had limited skills. I adjust my instruction accordingly.
