MF3 Music
About
I am a musician and music educator specializing in brass and bass guitar. I hold a Bachelor of Music from Stephen F. Austin State University as well as a Music EC-12 Teacher Certification. I can teach trumpet, trombone, euphonium, tuba, and jazz bass guitar.
I thoroughly enjoy listen and watch my students grow as individuals and musicians. Learning a musical instrument teaches a person many things that will have them be successful such as hard work, patience, and delayed gratification. Having my students learn these skills is essential in today's world.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I like to asses new students by listening to them play something they already know and from there determine the best course of action for that student. For beginners I like to find out how much music education they have received and also their music literacy level.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a Bachelor of Music, Music EC-12 teaching certification, and taught band and jazz band in public schools.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
Online lessons and lessons at my residence $20 per half hour. In person lessons at your location will vary depending on location. Pricing for group lessons is dependent on number of students and proficiency.
How did you get started teaching?
My journey began in 6th grade when I first started band. Since then I've been on an amazing musical rollercoaster. In high school I didn't know what I wanted to have a career in but I knew music was the way to go. In college I had the opportunity to become the student conductor which involved learning scores and teaching the music to the band. From them on I knew teaching is what I wanted to do.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with students from 7 years old to 18 from beginners to advanced students auditioning for All-State or Music School. I would love the opportunity to teach adults as well.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Don't go with just the fist person you find, test out different teachers to find one you really mesh with and works with your learning style.
