About

With over 10 years of coaching and training experience, Coach Tyson has a great passion for the game of basketball. Beginning a coaching career before going to college and then continuing down the coaching path after graduating from Southeastern Oklahoma Univ with a B.A. of Science. Understanding and teaching the importance of the basics for the beginner level players but also pushing with intense workouts and skill development for the more elite players. Coach Tyson has had the opportunity to coach 2 McDonald’s All Americans as well as train multiple collegiate and professional players. So if you’re in the DFW area and looking for great basketball training at an affordable rate. Contact Coach Tyson and Tyson’s Basketball Training, where our motto is “Don’t train for success, train for greatness”

I enjoy the progression from session to session, it doesnt get much more fulfilling than to watch an athlete gradually get better. While also understanding that confidence is a major key, the more confident an athlete becomes with his/her skill set can make them a better overall player.

That he takes his time and doesn’t rush drills. He makes sure that you are actually learning something opposed to just going through the motions.

I’ve played organized basketball with Debryant Tyson for four years in high school. Along with years of pick up basketball and I must say he has always had a high basketball IQ. He always played at a high level and the technique he acquired were excellent. After viewing the videos of the workouts he presents to his clients, shows that he creates a great opportunity for greatness. By challenging his clients with efficient drills, with the correct technique, and focus on each individuals weaknesses. I highly recommend taking his private lessons to better exceed your goals as an athlete and as a person.

Ive know Coach Tyson for 15 years. Played countless hours of organized and unorganized basketball with him. He was a highly skilled player and always exhibited true passion and love for the game. Soon as my sons are a little older he will be the coach I rely on and trust to develop their game. He gives kids the real fundamentals they need to be successful.

Frequently asked questions

With new students I typically like gather strengths and weaknesses from either the player of parent. Then put the player through a series of workouts and drills to see which areas we need to focus on going forward.

This past year coached at Trinity Christian Academy and turned around a 0-9 season to an 8-3 s. The admiration I received from both pworkarents and players was something that I very fond of.

First check the background of the instructor, it’s very important to know what levels the instructor has worked with. Also what areas does the instructor excel in. Some coaches are great shooting coache, some ball handling, some footwork, there are many areas of the sport that different coach excel in more than others. But then you also may find a coach that has experience and knowledge to teach all aspects of the game.

Honestly ask yourself what parts of the game do you focus on the least.
