About this pro

Keller Yoga has highly trained and experienced instructors that teach not just yoga for healing the physical body, but also classes on deepening self understanding, mental & emotional well-being and loving-kindness.  We offer workshops on different topics from nutrition to yoga philosophy.  We also offer community events like drum circles and ecstatic dance as well as fundraisers for our community.

I enjoy offering people a space where they feel safe and free to be themselves and to grow in their own self knowledge, self expression and selfless service.  It brings me great joy to teach people ways of accessing their inner wisdom and overcoming addictions, anxiety and fears.  Our teachers are all highly trained and have been teaching for many years.  The depth of understanding the body/mind complex is grounded in their own experience and their wide range of training in yoga, anatomy, nutrition, trauma & anxiety training, meditation, self-inquiry.

FAQs

What is your typical process for working with a new student?

If the student is interested in working privately with me or one of our instructors, then we have an interview where the student indicates the area they would like to work on.  If a new student wants to do group classes, I highly recommend starting with Back to Basics whether they are new to yoga or have been practicing for a long time.  This class is excellent for establishing a foundation of alignment and instruction that they can use to enhance their own practice in any other class at our studio, other studios or their own home practice.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

Our teachers have a wide variety of training and education:  Some of our instructors have been trained and experienced in teaching yoga therapy, working with injured, elderly, or diabled in some form.  Other teachers have a lot of training and experience in working with trauma survivors, high anxiety and other emotional/mental challenges.  Some of our teachers work with self motivation and accomplishing goals both physical and general life goals.  We also have highly trained instructors who teach about yoga philosophy, meditation, anatomy & physiology, nutrition, and yoga teacher training.

Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.

We have a drop in rate of $17 per class (for group lessons).

We offer a one-time special of 30 days of unlimited classes for $59.

We offer private lessons for $75/hour.

We also have other pricing options for our workshops & events.

How did you get started teaching?

I got started teaching when I was 19 years old at the request of some of my meditation friends.  I was originially trianed one-on-one with an Indian yogi/meditator, named Kamal.  From there I got my official 500 hour yoga certification from the Himalayan Institute as well as a bachelor's degree in anthropology where I studied the cultures of India.  I am also a licenced massage therapist.  All of my education and life experiences have led me to learn about the body, mind and spirit.

What types of students have you worked with?

I have worked with a lot of different types of people from pre-k children to adults, from trauma survivors to athletes who want to gain more access to their bodies.  I teach yoga teacher trainings and have taught the different limbs of yoga to all different types of people, who had different reasons for learning about yoga.

Describe a recent event you are fond of.

My favorite experience of teaching is helping people find out new aspects to themselves, mentally, physically, emotionally, or spiritually.  I love teaching one-on-one or in small groups and watching students experience something new even if they have been practicing for a long time.

What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?

Find a teacher who wants to help you find your own inner teacher rather than someone who wants you to become their student where you become dependent on them.

What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?

What are you goals?  What is your desire for your life, physically, mentally, emotionally, spiritually?
