About
I've been playing classical and jazz trumpet since the 4th grade. Since then, I had gone on to join multiple honor bands in high school, leading to me attend Juilliard majoring in jazz trumpet. I have spent the last 5 years dedicating myself to performing and teaching the next generation of trumpet.
I am more than happy to teach all ages and levels of players. My specialties include basic trumpet foundational help, lead playing, range, improvisation, sight reading, and training your ear.
I've had the pleasure and honor of playing alongside Wynton Marsalis and the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra, Roy Hargrove, Evan Sherman Big Band, and many more around the country and the world.
notable experiences:
high school: all state (3 years), Grammy Band (2 years), nafme all American jazz band (1 year), Next gen orchestra (1 years), Berklee 5 week (1 year), Sf Jazz Allstars (3 years), CJC studio band (3 years), SJA Camp (2 years)
college: Juilliard (2016-2020)Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra (4 performances and 1 album), Evan Sherman Big Band (4 years), Nate Sparks Big Band (4 years), Brazil Tour, Europe Tour, Kyle Athayde Dance Party (4 years)
I love being able to teach the next generation of musicians because my teachers are the reason I am where I am, so I always wanted to be able to help teach the new trumpet players what I learned.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I want to get to get a basic understanding of your current knowledge and how comfortable you are with trumpet. From there, I'll create a personal regiment to target weak spots in your playing and help build upon your strengths. I also want to know who you are and what you want to accomplish
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I've learned from the best: Wynton Marsalis, Roy Hargrove, Bobby Shew, Chris Jaudes, Tatum Greenblatt and more.
ive been teaching privately for 5 years or so with around 20 total students during that time, all while attending Juilliard as a full time student.

How did you get started teaching?
I've always credited my own success to the great teachers that helped me get there. Teaching has always been something I wanted to pursue so when I had enough knowledge to pass on I started teaching back in high school.
What types of students have you worked with?
All types. All ages from 7 to 20 years old, from beginners to advanced students.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I had the opportunity to record an album with Wynton Marsalis and the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra, "Black Brown and Beige", playing lead trumpet.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Be prepared to work hard and feel frustrated and understand that it's totally ok to mess up or to not get something the first time. Trumpet takes time to hone and I will be patient.

What do you want to accomplish and how hard are you willing to work to achieve those goals?
