About

I am professional, I have fun and I make sure my students are held accountable. If my students are willing to listen and work, I can GUARANTEE improvement.

I am currently 38 years old and continue playing golf and basketball competitively at a high level locally.

I really enjoy helping people get better at their craft. I personally know, from experience, how to get better at just about anything in life. Even THE best athletes on the planet all have coaches, trainers, instructors, etc. If you're willing to put the proper work in with the proper coach, you WILL improve. That is VERY satifsying as a coach.

Coach Wright has been working with my 15 year-old son for a couple of years now. He has been an absolute pleasure to work with and my son is a completely different player from when we started. His knowledge of the game of basketball is incredible. From basic fundamentals to more advance training and basketball moves, hes been fantastic.
IF you or your child want to take your game to the next level, Coach Wright will not disappoint. Hes all about accountability, WORK and having fun getting better and improving skills. Coach Wright comes highly recommended from me and my son.

Frequently asked questions

First off, a discussion of goals. Why coaching? What are you looking for and why?

Once we've determined and possibly set a couple of goals we'll quickly identify the steps to achieving such goals.

Are you willing to work? I can help anyone get better at their craft IF that person is willing to put in the work DURING our session and also in between sessions. FYI...Michael Jordan and Tiger Woods are both considered the best of all-time in the sports (arguably), yet, their peers will tell you their worked harder than everyone else.

Attitude...working with me will be FUN. I'm easy-going, yet I WILL push you and hold you accountable. I will get a lot out of you that you didn't know you had inside. The work will be tough, be the results will be extremely satisfying.

If you're not willing to put in the time, please work with someone else.

I walked-on at the Salt Lake Community College 17 years ago both as a basketball player and golfer. After college I tried out to play professional basketball in Europe...the tryouts were held at Long Beach State College. After making it through the first session of tryouts and cuts, I was let go during the final session. Since then I have continued to play in local semi-pro leagues as of 4 years ago. Since then, I've moved on to playing in comp leagues in Frisco, Texas. I'm 38 years old with a wife and 4 children ages 6-15.

I have been a golf professional as well for the past 8 years and currently co-own The Club Fix of TEXAS as a custom golf club fitter and instructor.

Standard pricing is $35 - $50 per 1-hour lesson. The first session is dicounted to make sure that both the student (and parents, if applicable) AND teacher are comfortable working together. Discounts are offered to those who want multiple lessons or group lessons.

I am the oldest of 5 siblings....4 boys and 1 girl. I grew up playing baseball and basketball primarily until age 16, when I added golf and tennis to the mix.

I was cut by my high school basketball coach, yet, through hard work I was able to walk-on at for basketball and golf at The Salt Lake Community College in Taylorsville, Utah. I also made it through 2 sessions of trying out at Long Beach State College to play professional basketball overseas. I was cut from the 3rd session and did not end up receiving an offer to play. I came home and went to work full-time to support my new wife and soon-to-be firstborn son.

I got into coaching my two sons over 12 years ago. My oldest is now 15 years old and holds a +1 USGA Handicap Index (golf). I've coached him from day one and am still coaching him. He is currently only working with me. He works harder and grinds more than any kid his age (that I personally know of). I coach him in basketball for several years before he just recently decided to stick with golf full-time, although he still plays pick-up hoops once a week at night to stay in good shape. I also taught him to play football, specifically quarterback. He was the starting QB in middle school for two years. Once he entered high school as a freshman he gave up football to play golf.

You name it! During the past 13 years I have seen EVERY golf swing and JUMP SHOT that you can imagine. I've also taught, trained, analyzed and custom fit (golf) these students as well. Plain and simple, it's my experience being around sports since age 4. My dad played competitive basketball and fast pitch softball while I was growing up.

Make sure you "mesh" well. There's nothing wrong with trying out a couple of teachers to understand how they work, teach, movitate, hold accountability, etc. Learning, in my opinion, should be fun, require hard work and produce results.

I would ask a teacher these questions:

How will you help me get better?

If I follow your steps will you guarantee improvement?

Do you have references that back up your claims?

Have you personally been involved in the sport you are teaching and are/were you exceptional at such sport now or in the past?

Do you actually enjoy teaching/coaching or are you just in it for a paycheck?
