Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I definitely go through an evaluation period in our first Session where I see what a players knows, needs to be inproved, or corrected. I also ask what goals the player has. Not everyone wants to go pro. Some players want a college scolarship, I provide a service to help place indivduals that I train. D1, D2, NAIA, Prep school, O have placed client at every level even Professional Leagues. I also research what position they play, what type of style their team plays, and what is needed for their upcoming season.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I train and certify Basketball trainers. As a licensed Educator, I understand individuals all learn differently. I have been by hired by the NBA and NBA coaches/players such as Steve Kerr, Doc Rivers, Tacko Fall, Patrick Beverly AND, athletes just starting and athletes wanting to fix something they are struggling through.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
We have different packages. Pricing is $40- to over $100 per session depending on the package of training you desire.

How did you get started teaching?
Our founder, Ben Simmons, was training 8 hours a day in the gym in 1992. He noticed a young boy working out and shooting incorrectly. Simmons just could not take it anymore and he walked over, introduced himself, and worked to fix his shot. The next day the father of the young boy said, "I don't know how you did it, but whatever you did yesterday worked magic. His shot is so much better and he could not stop talking about you!" That was Simmons' first client. It happened organically, doing what he loved and helping others. 31 years later it has bloomed into BenX Sports and the Simmons Sports Training Institute! All of our trainers are certified through us.
