My training with John is far what I exceeded and continues to exceed my expectations everyday. From his patience to his detail oriented skill work. He takes the time to demonstrate every necessary tool a move requires for you to perform correctly with maximum effort. By doing so, Repetitions and break downs help tremendously. He truly has a passion for the game and it shows through his training. Not only does he teach you the game he helps you understand the purpose of each move and adds counter moves for whatever might come your way. His training varies from ball handling, speed, shooting, quickness, reaction, change of direction, countermoves, post moves, etc. He also provides countless amounts of tools to help perform different drills such as resistance bands, heavy balls, tennis balls, cones, etc. Not only does he train you on the court but off the court as well. Strength and conditioning are pivotal points to maintain a healthy body throughout a season. John caters to the body and gives specific workouts that fit each persons body type. You will not leave a training session with John and not feel completely satisfied knowing you worked your butt off and got better! His goal is to not only teach you the game but to instill specific moves and make training a lifestyle.

FAQs

What is your typical process for working with a new student?

It all depends on how advance the Athlete is when training.... My first lesson is usually a slow pace because I am gauging there skill level.. Once I see where the are I create them a program to master before moving on to new things that are challenging..

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I have been playing Basketball all my life.. The old saying goes, “some people can play the game but can’t coach it”.... I played the game and I am a great coach.... I am confident in my work and I think anybody who trains with me will love it too.

How did you get started teaching?

I started teaching and coaching the game after my College Career was over.... I trained a few guys who were still in College... At that time I had no idea I would want to do this as a career... But I’m glad I did....

What types of students have you worked with?

I have worked with Athlete from ages 5-30.....  I am very skilled and can train anyone who wants to get better...

What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?

Make sure the trainer is passionate about what they do.... Also, you want someone who is patient and can break down game moves and situations so that Athlete can understand and get the max

What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?

I always ask what area do you want to get better at.... A kid may say dribbling, so I focus on dribbling but me as a passionate Coach I give you the full experience....
