C. Myre Music Composition
About
As editor for T.U.X. People's Music Publishing, I spend a large amount of time reviewing, editing, and revising scores for a multitude of composers. I take pride in my ability to look at a piece of music objectively and analytically and I love to offer suggestions.
As a composer, I possess a vast and thorough knowledge of instrumentation and orchestration practices and often utilize them in my own work. I work with performers often and take great care to ensure that music is not only fun but well-written and idiomatic.
Music is a product of time and care. It is the small details tucked away in the corner that bring the craft from a mere hobby to a profession; those moments that bring the listener from an observer to an active participant in the music-making process. As a composer, I love to be the instigator. I love to make the audience feel not just entertained, but moved. Most importantly, I love to introduce them to something new and encourage them to step outside of their comfort zone.

Frequently asked questions
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
The best music teachers are often the ones that disagree with you the most on a musical level. As a composer, some of the greatest ideas come from those whose styles are completely different from your own. The combined perspectives of two aesthetically different people make for some of the most interesting and complex music.
