Global Stars Basketball Academy is now offering private basketball skills training and mentoring sessions for players of all ages. Global Stars is a world renowned elite training organization that has trained amateur and professional athletes in the sport of basketball. Their instructors are all current or former professional or collegiate level players or coaches. Training programs are age specific, and geared towards improving the all around skill level of the player. We begin with an evaluation of the player's skill and basketball IQ. From there we create an individual training program. If a player truly wants to be the best at his or her sport, then private training sessions are the way to go.
Ask any professional athlete to define themselves. They will simply tell you that their occupation is not what they do, but rather it is who they are. They completely immerse themselves in their sport. Their desire to be the absolute best at what they do is what drives them daily. It is with this passion in which Global Stars trains its players. We don't just train players. We mold them.
Sessions will be held at the gym or basketball court location of your choice. At home training is also available if desired.
I've had many highs and lows throughout my basketball career, and I know what it takes to reach the highest levels of on court success. There is no substitution for dedication and hard work. I put my all into my players because I expect their all in return. Greatness is not given, it is earned. To schedule an evualation session please call or text to 817-495-9560.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Typical process for working with a new player begins with a player level evaluation. Skill level varies from player to player therefore an accurate assessment of mental and physical abilities is of the utmost importance. From there a program is created specifically geared towards maximizing the player's potential.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have played, coached, and trained athletes for 25+ years
- 4 years NCAA Div 1 Basketball player at Mississippi State University. Graduated with a degree in Industrial Engineering and a minor in Business. Chose to play basketball professionally upon graduating
- 14 year professional playing career. NBA, NBA D-League, and overseas.
- Began coaching, training, and conducting basketball camps and clinics the last 2 seasons of my professional career. Upon retiring began focusing on training and coaching players full time.

How did you get started teaching?
What drove me to pursue training was reflecting upon my playing career. There are so many things that I learned in the latter years of my professional playing career. Things that I wish I would have learned earlier on. Things that would have made me an even better player than I was at an earlier age. Understanding that the more you know, and the sooner you know it will lead you to a more successful outcome. Basketball is a time limit talent. And the sooner a person seeks to hone their talents the better they will be, and over a longer period of time.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with ALL types of students, and of all ages. From novice beginners to professional basketball players.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
My initial advice for a player looking for the right trainer is to look for 2 things. Knowledge and communication. Are they knowledgeable on the subject matter and are they communicating it well. And most importantly trust. Do you trust that this is the trainer that will get the most out of me, and that will make me the best possible player that I can be.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
The one question that a player should think through before talking to me is... Am I ready for greatness? If the answer to that question is yes then contact Quentin Smith with Global Stars Basketball. Greatness is awaiting you.
