About
Hi there — I’m Beth Anne! For the past six years, I’ve taught in both Irving ISD and Keller ISD. I just recently left the classroom to pursue my passion of private/small-group tutoring. I love teaching Algebra, but I also have a huge passion for Geometry! I spent the last two years as the Pre-AP Geometry level lead at Central High School and worked on the Geometry curriculum writing team for the district.

As much as I loved teaching in a classroom setting and feeding off the energy of 30 different personalities, I ultimately enjoy building connections with my kiddos in smaller groups. I really like getting to know my students and discover how they learn best. When I help demystify math for a student, that is success for me!

Frequently asked questions
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics from the University of North Texas — Go Mean Green!
I am a Texas certified math teacher with 6 years of classroom experience in Irving ISD and Keller ISD.
I have done private tutoring and small group tutoring for the past 6 years in addition to teaching in the classroom.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
I charge $60 per hour for one-on-one private tutoring.
For small groups (2-3 kids), I charge $40 per student for the hour. I have tutored larger groups before, but I prefer a max of 3 kids per group so each child still gets a lot of one-on-one help.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
I highly recommend finding a tutor that has actually taught math at the high school level in a classroom setting. A certified teacher will always be more expensive, but I guarantee you get what you pay for when it comes to math tutoring. Certified math teachers know exactly what your teacher is looking for and where they’re coming from, because we’ve been there! And we know our content so well that we can already anticipate the problems you will encounter in different units throughout the class.
