Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I like to scaffold lessons. Start with easy things and build up at a convenient pace of the student. Of course, I also like to target the student's desired outcome and teach specifically to what they want to learn. I am adaptable to many forms of medium.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
18 years as a public school teacher. I am certified, and also have experience teaching art. I am a member of the Art League of Baytown, and have created commissioned artworks for clients.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
I have a standard price for initial lessons of $30/hour. This initial lesson will be like a consultation visit, where I can determine the skill level of the intended student, provide some basic fundamentals of art, and determine the details of future lessons. If it is decided to continue with further lessons, a $15 credit will be applied to the subsequent lesson as an incentive. The $15 credit is only applicable to the one subsequent lesson.
How did you get started teaching?
I grew up in a family of teachers, therefore I was naturally influenced by those around me. I have a great passion for art, and so I decided to become an art teacher in order to share my passion and influence others.
