About
I teach in a lovely little studio near Kemah, and I only teach two or three students per session, so you get individualized attention. The lessons will be tailored to your specific needs, not a cookie cutter lesson. I am passionate in seeing your growth as an artist.
An artist, for as long as she remembers, Dianne grew up in Missouri and California, followed by living in 13 states and England. Those travels allowed her to see much of the United States and the natural beauty was never lost on her. During her early years Dianne raised a family. Her natural talents allowed her to work in advertising and design and illustration and as an artist in the graphics department at NASA Langley Research Center, Virginia. Now retired from the corporate world is persuing her art career full time and living in Webster, Texas.
Dianne’s discovery of the beauty in the natural world has always led her to want to express it through painting. Her work is grounded in a representational style, her subject matter is usually local flora and fauna. Dianne enjoys creating many forms of art including, but not limited to; oils, colored pencil, watercolors, and acrylics, mixed media and most recently Alcohol ink paintings.
Alcohols inks have an amazing color intensity unlike most other mediums. In working with the unpredictable nature of alcohol inks, Dianne creates controlled structure while simultaneously "going with the flow" and working around and with the unpredictable shapes and blends of the inks. She loves the technical challenge required to make it all work together to create something graceful and beautiful.
“I paint because it enriches my journey and gives me Joy.”
The Texas Gulf coast is a good fit for such a lover of animals and nature. Dianne is currently living and painting in Webster, Texas with her husband and two dogs
Dianne’s work has been shown at From the Heart Gallery, Galveston, TX, Third coast Gallery, Galveston, TX, The Art of Coffee, Kemah, TX, and is currently hanging in the G Lee Gallery on the Strand in Galveston, TX.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
When working with a new client the most importand thing is learn about them, thier goals and aspirations. The next is to learn about previous experience and training and create a plan for them.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I was born into an artisic family so natural talent was a real advantage to me. I have painted all of my life , but over the years have been able to take courses with many successful artists in thier studios, From South Carolina, Virginia and Texas. I gleaned inportant skills from each one.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
My lessons are in two hour blocks and experience tells me that that is the perfect amount of time, to set up, clean up but most of all to review and critique any home work and work on new classroom paintings..
