Ive been working with Trevor for just over a year. His teaching goes beyond just dry technique and theory to answer the question why am I doing this?. When you work with Trevor, there is purpose behind everything you do. He starts with your big picture goals and breaks them down into actionable steps that you can take feeling like its going somewhere. This makes for way more efficient and exciting practice sessions. If you dont know exactly where you want to go with your playing, Trevor will help you find that as well.

Trevor is an amazing teacher! He works with you to make a plan to learn whatever interests you. I can bring in any kind of music or style of playing and he will help me learn all of the elements. He is happy to go as far into theory as you want or stay more high level. Also has been very helpful in transitioning from learning tunes to writing and recording my own songs. Highly recommend.

I started playing ukulele a few years ago and took lessons with a teacher that were, sadly, unfulfilling and unmotivating. I gave up on lessons until I decided to finally pick up guitar and try again to move forward with more lessons and strengthen my music theory base. Trevor has made learning the guitar a worthwhile investment that is absolutely paying off. Suddenly things make so much more sense musically, and I’m excited to practice at home and prepare to come back to my next lesson with new things to show him and new questions to ask. Trevor has been a delight as a teacher. He’s patient, understanding, funny, and willing to try more than a few angles to find out what excites his students and drives them to be better musicians than they were when they entered the room. I never dread a lesson with him, and I’m always just a little bummed when they’re finally over!

Trevor is a skilled guitarist, well-versed in music theory, and extremely patient when teaching lessons. As somebody who’s never taken music lessons before, I was afraid he’d have me playing scales and arpeggios for the first few months. Not the case! Trevor has an answer for every question that crosses my mind and always structures our lessons around whatever excites me most. A lot of our lessons spill over onto his keyboard, where he’s very adept at explaining theory concepts. I’ve been taking lessons with Trevor for 5 months and would recommend him to anyone!
