Cave Painters
About
I have almost 30 yrs of teaching experience, but I have been an artist since the day I picked up my first crayon. I work as a professional illustrator and muralist, I have a doctorate in education, and I have been a certified art educator since 1995.
I love watching people reawaken their childlike love of art and become more confident in their creatvity and capacity to become a good artist. Children as learners take chances and risks artistically because they do not have the fear of putting themselves out there. Their joy is so much fun to navigate into meaningful learning, while older learners need to be coaxed into growth and artistic expression. But having fun and becoming more confident as an artist is my primary focus to developing successful art students.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I start my first session w a consultation on their interests and there level of confidence as an artist. Then I give them the assignment to make a quick, simple sketch of a pre-made still life to see their current aptitude.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
I charge a flat rate of $50 an hour. If our time goes over by 10 mins, I won't charge extra, but if it goes over fifteen minutes, I charge an extra $15 for every extra quarter hour over the session time.
