About

Whether you're just beginning to discover drawing, or have experience with drawing and painting and are looking for a challenge, individual lessons in the studio feature a variety of drawing and painting medium choices to use and learn from. Drawing and painting from observation using still life props and self-portraiture are also featured, as well as working from photographs for subject content. I enjoy getting to know my students, and small classes and one-on-one instruction allow me to spend the appropriate time needed to build artistic skills and creative thinking with each individual student. It is my mission and passion to build and empower artists, encourage creative thinking and problem solving, and nurture their human need for self-expression and self-actualization through visual art.

Since 2008, I have used in-depth experiences with art mediums, art theory, art history, and analysis to ensure a more thorough education in visual art for all of my students. My objective is to provide each student with a fulfilling and fun understanding of visual art and techniques coupled with creation of personal works with a variety of mediums, hands-on projects, observation, and thought-provoking discussions. The journey of each artist is never-ending and full of discovery, beauty, perseverance, and excitement. I hope to start and share this journey with you or someone you know who's ready to take that first step!

In my teaching positions at private schools as an art educator, I built an art program for a school, assembled and maintained studios, developed and implemented all art curriculum and assessment measures, taught all art classes from kindergarten to advanced high school art, and entered students in local art competitions. I made connections with each of my students and watched them grow into incredible artists and people. Recognizing my ability to create content and connect with students in small groups and one-on-one, I decided in 2019 to teach classes and lessons independently from my home studio.
