About
I would love the opportunity to share my passion for oil painting with you or your children. My first oil painting lesson was when I was ten years old. Even though I did not continue painting after high school, I never forgot how much I loved it. The fond memories drew me back to painting decades later. I hope to be the kind of teacher that inspires this kind of artistic passion in others.
Class Goals:
1. Instill a love of art and enjoyment for oil painting.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
If the student is new to painting, I begin with a simple piece of fruit. The first lesson focuses on learning about the paint properties, mixing paints, and the tools. I know how excited most students are to get painting, so we work on a simple still-life to help them begin learning about line, shape, value, and color. The goal for the first sessions is to make the student feel comfortable, establish some basic principles, and give the student a sense of accomplishment.
With each class, the student builds on their knowledge and skill level. Gradually, students will begin selecting their reference material to create paintings that inspire them.
Each class builds on the next and each class is structured to be an enriching experience.
