What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Explain the process of each step. I allow the student the freedom to move along the steps at their speed. While they paint, I explain the process and the many different aspects of painting and why they are doing what they are doing and what each step means.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am self taught.

How did you get started teaching?
I had someone at work that asked. We completed two paintings and were starting the third when she moved out of state.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Be open and available to learn. Realize the process of painting is pretty simple, as far as the mechanics, it's the ability to make an image seem like it has depth or to copy what you actually see-there are nuances that are difficult to explain.
