Stephanie Reid – Art Instructor (Drawing, Painting, Mixed Media & Portfolio Development)

I am a certified Texas Art EC–12 educator with experience teaching elementary, middle school, and high school students in both public schools and private learning environments. I hold a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of North Texas and have taught a wide range of students, from complete beginners to advanced art students preparing for exhibitions and portfolio reviews.

My teaching philosophy focuses on process over perfection. I believe anyone can learn to create art when they are given the right tools, encouragement, and opportunities to explore. My lessons are designed to build confidence, creativity, technical skills, and critical thinking while meeting each student where they are.

Students learn foundational skills such as observation, composition, value, color theory, perspective, and creative expression through engaging, hands-on projects. Lessons can be tailored to individual interests, whether that's realistic drawing, contemporary art, nature studies, portraiture, or creative experimentation.

As a classroom teacher, I have extensive experience differentiating instruction for students with varying learning styles and abilities, including gifted learners and students who benefit from additional support. My goal is to create a welcoming, encouraging environment where students feel comfortable taking creative risks and developing their unique artistic voice.
