About

I have been a profesional photographer for over 25 years in the Greater Austin and Georgetown area. I am primarily a wedding photographer, but I am also experienced in family, event, and corporate photography. I am well versed in the technical aspects of photography, as well as the intricate mechanisms of modern-day cameras. I try to make lessons alot of fun and hands-on, as well as explaining and teaching the process of doing a photoshoot, wedding, or event. We can have the lessons in the studio or downstairs at the coffee shop below the photography studio.

I greatly enjoy the people I get to meet on a daily basis, the relationships formed, and the trust people show in me when they hire me to photograph some of the most important days of their lives. I also enjoy the sheer act of creating when I am doing photography :)

    Frequently asked questions

We can start with getting to know each other and finding where your interests lie.  Following that is an understanding of what you wish to become more knowledgeable in or develop an aptitude in doing.

We always meet at a local coffee shop. you bring your camera, I know all the buttons on all the cameras, and can explain everything there is for you to know.

We even do a little shooting in the first lesson !

I have 25+ years in the photographgy business.

Photography has paid my bills and fed my family for a few decades.

I have photographed over a thousand weddings and thousands of events and have done all kinds of photoshoots.

    $30/hr

...and it's not even about the money. I have had such a good time with photography all these years, and have even met dozens of famous people because of it, that I'm more than happy to pass the joy of photogaphy on to others  :)

Iv'e worked with many interns, temps, and people who just wanted to shadow during photoshoots or weddings.

I have given lessons to photo students at The University of Texas for quite a few years, and teaching people the things they don't teach you in classes and in books,

This is something I've been known for doing :)

Old and young, and many in between.

Very intelligent and the not so bright.

Men and women, the creative and the technical.

Those who just wanted a new hobby, and those who wanted to become photographers.

Those who wanted to photograph flowers landscapes, portraits, architecture, budoir. action and sports, you name it.

I have photographed Snoop Dogg in concert,

Ashton Kucher at SXSW, various pro and Longhorn athletes

Weddings at the Driskill, and weddins at Burning Man Festival, and weddings in Costa Rica, plus just a whole lot of regular events with regular folks (my favorite)

I would say that not nearly enough of you who SAY you want a photography lesson, end up actually going through with it. I'm sorry to say ...not only is that a waste of everybody's time, it is totally YOUR LOSS. If you signed up, that means you want a photo lesson, so GO THROUGH WITH IT. you'll be happy you did. It's only an hour, it's only $30. It might be the only lesson you ever need. don't worry about what you DO or DON"T KNOW. It'll be alright  :)

First and I mean FIRST, check the professional who is giving the lesson, check their website, Facebook. IG, etc..

Do you want a boring teacher, or just whoever to teach you, or would you rather have someone AWESOME ?!!

I think you get it.   Also, don't be afraid to actually use the telephone like a normal person. You'd be amazed at how inspired and excited you could be by simply making one little 5 minute phone call !!!   512-476-8957
