    Frequently asked questions

Starting out I would like an understanding on why you chose to play your instrument! It's a great guide on where we will go on style of lessons and how to proceed. It's also a great ice breaker to know who you are!

I am a graduate of St. Philip's College in San Antonio with an Associates in Music, and am a current student of the University of the Incarnate Word going for my Bachelors in Music Education. I have taken various methods classes and teaching development classes that teach skills in understanding students and how to teach wind instruments.

Pricing for lessons are usually by the hour. I only ask for $30.00 per hour lesson. This is flexible!

My target students are beginners to intermediate, ranging from elementary level to high school. This however does not mean I won't help any new comers to the horn family out of school! All are welcome, but students who have less than 10 years experience will better benfit from me!

Frequency of lessons should be at the very least once per week and can go up to 3 times a week.

If you have any questions, please feel free to email me!

I didn't think about teaching until my final year at St. Philip's. I noticed how my choir and ensemble directors were able to inspire their students to do great and become great musicians, and I wanted to spread the same encouragment to students who may not feel that they are getting any better. Truth is, you always can!

Make sure that you contact the teacher before hiring! You don't want to hire a teacher that you are unsure will benefit you and teach things you didn't already know. A teacher should always bring something new to the table for you to learn from.
