What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I will write down their passions and get to know the student to know where we start.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a bachelor's degree in Fine Arts and Education. I studied at our Lady of the Lake and I'm a art teacher at an Elementary School.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
I charge $20 an hour plus materials.
How did you get started teaching?
I always wanted to teach and I started teaching my sibling and cousins since I was 16 art and tutoring.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked from pre-kinders to adults.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I had a student he was 16, he was really good in drawing when I met him but he did not know how to shade. One day I showed him the difference that value does in a drawing, we worked together on a drawing he was doing of horses. I still remember his face, he was amazed with the difference value does.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Get to know your teacher first to see if you find a connection and then chat about art your likes and dislikes to get a feel of her knowledge in art.
