My Impressionista
About
My name is Laura and I love to paint. I have been an artist for as long as I remember and my true joy is in teaching others how to get in touch with their creativity. It doesn’t happen in a day, but with practice and through technique, I believe that everyone can tap into their creative side and discover their own style in time. Let me help you find your art mojo and let’s start painting. It’s easier than you would think and you might be surprised at how quickly you grow. Come with a willing, open heart and a positive, can do attitude. The worst enemy to creativity is your own mind, so let’s get started and find that freedom you’ve been searching for.
I love to seeing a client getting in touch with their own creativity and starting to feel the confidence and the joy that can come from painting. I makes my heart laugh when someone says, "wow, I can't believe I did that", and when they get to show off or bring home something that they feel is special. I am really good at getting people to relax and enjoy themselves. It is very important to do this in order to tap into and bring freedom to creativity, so come with an open heart and a good attitude and you might surprise yourself.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I start most students out by asking what their goals and objectives are? Is this just fun, or are you wanting to learn a new skill? Or are you seeking to be a professional artist? I like to get to know my students. What are they passionate about and how would they like to apply that to their paintings. For beginners we start easy so that I can help build confidence and let creativity start to bloom. Art is subjective, so I allow the painter to be their own critic and then ask how I can help help them through technique and instruction. It is my goal to provide a safe and positive creative experience as opposed to a critical, analytical, or judgmental environment.
