The way art is triditionaly taught is select your medium and then learn to understand it & how to apply it. It teaches form, cast shadow and basic steps of a process with each facet its own meager lesson. The way my lessons stand out is that, I group many facets and condence them into simple process steps as we work on your 1st master piece through my instruction. Creative output is strengthened by solid ground work. You decide on the subject. It could range from scenic, to object, to landscape, to cityscape, to portrait. I will also teach you how to procure and take notes on process, style, and form. My general attempt is to equip & guide you to a better understanding of painting. Its a journey from the first time we pick up a paint brush to the last time.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Supplying the basic materials then establishing time and location to meet & teach & learn. Then I try understanding the level and experience the student has grasped so far. Immediately teach them something small to see how they process information. Then begin to walk them through process with help of my instructions.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I attended college for architecture and through that I was taught water color, color theory and where i picked up my most valuable understandings of a sketch/note book. I also do animation work, &omic book work. I am versatile in many mediums. Acrylic ink, oil, acrylic paint, digital art (Vector and Raster), stencil and drawing in ink and graphite.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
I do want to say that my standards are $20 per hr. Max is 5 hours in in session with a minimum of 2 hours. (One isn't just enough time to walk you through with enough instruction)
This also includes my number as your instructor which means you may call me or text me with any questions on your art, if you need help or feedback.
- 1st 30 mins is applying the first layer of your painting (let dry) then setting up and doing your reference on your subject.
-2nd 30 mins is setting up the basic gradients of your back ground then plotting or planning your composition of your subject. Adding key elements of art, such as depth, flow, and weight etc.
-2nd hour painting your subject. It takes time to make a master peice some take me up to a month to finish and some only 5 hours and some only 1 hour.
The works/content you will put out into the world will make you more than what I am asking for.
How did you get started teaching?
I am still an instructor to my first student. My niece from my older sister. She loves the animation I make and she is 14. I am teaching her the fundementals of form and form in motion. She doesn't paint. But I do have works posted up in my home. It's like living in a fine arts Museum.
