Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
My first goal is always an assessment. I want to know what your skill level is and what you hope to learn from the lesson.
Once we figure out exactly what you need from the lesson I will begin to give you hands on way to practice and perfect that skill.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
14 years of experience working in the photo and video industry. I have worked on Content for Oprah, I have worked on broadcast TV, created entire television commercials from start to finish, started a successful Marketing company, and helped other do the same.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
$50/hr
How did you get started teaching?
I started teaching because a friend asked for a lesson. After helping him I decided to help others in the area. I offered lessons online in a local group and started teaching classes of 20 people on a weekly basis. Several of my students have photography businesses now.
What types of students have you worked with?
Any and all types of students.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I recently shot a commercial for a local company. I also recently got to travel around Texas taking photos for a large travel booking website which.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Look for someone with experience over a degree. Book smart doesn't always translate well in areas of art. While classic training can help, real experience is the best teacher.
