We begin by reviewing the basics of taking a good image, and quickly progress to taking lots of photographs.
We can also learn about using digital devices to process photos to create the perfect image.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I studied photography in college, and then worked as a professional photographer in Europe, Asia and the United States.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
I prefer to charge the least amount possible in order to make photography accessible to as many people as possible.
How did you get started teaching?
When I returned to Texas, I became a high school teacher for digital photography because I enjoy both photography and young.
What types of students have you worked with?
I've worked with students as young a 6 up to high school age.
I'm awed at how fast all of these kids have learned the skills to become really good photographers.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
Recently, two of my young students and I spent several hours while they took photos of each other handling and interacting with some pet birds and dogs.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Be sure that your teacher understands your goals for learning and is committed to always provide a safe and relaxed environment.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Hmm . . . there are so many good questions to think about . . .
Maybe think a little about what subjects you hope to photograph: Landscapes, scenics, people, events, sports, cityscapes and still-lifes are a few of the options.
