Hi, my name is William. I’m a local guitar player and music teacher.

I am currently offering lessons for kids ages 8+ and adults.

I offer:

electric and acoustic guitar

piano/ keyboard

ukulele + voice

and bass guitar lessons.

For children up to fifth grade we offer a two hour group class every Monday 6-8:00 PM (included in the price).

I charge $250/month for all services, and I give a $50 discount if you pay with Zelle autopay on the first of each month.

Children 8-11 years old get:

30 minute lesson every week

Group Practice Class, Monday 6-8:00 PM

Children 11 and up and adults get a 1-hour lesson each week.

Guitar lessons

Our guitar lessons curriculum is focused around rhythm, theory, and repertoire.

We teach charts, tabs, and traditional “knee-to-knee” strategies for song learning.

One of our biggest, most unique, and certainly most uncommon focus areas is in teaching music theory. Contrary to popular belief, most students LOVE music theory; it is one of the most interesting puzzles ever to exist, and learning music theory often helps answer the question: “why do I need to learn algebra?” in a way that completely engages students who would previously have been convinced “I’m not a MATH person” (no such thing).

We teach genre specific concepts for blues, classic rock, metal, indie & alternative, and more; just ask!

Kids group class

The kids group class takes place every Monday from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Over the course of three to four months, elementary aged students (6-10 years of age) have an opportunity to learn and perfect a list of popular songs chosen by students and instructors together. These songs are based on the following criteria:

Historical relevance/variety (1950s-2020s)

Student enthusiasm

Teenager group class

The teenager group class takes place every Saturday from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM. Over the course of three to four months, elementary aged students (11-17 years of age) have an opportunity to learn and perfect a list of popular songs chosen by students and instructors together. These songs are based on the following criteria:

Piano lessons

Our piano lessons curriculum is focused around rhythm, theory, and repertoire.

We teach music reading and sight reading, like most other schools do, but our first focus for piano students is basic rhythm patterns, chord formulas, and playing comfortably in social, rather than formal settings.

One of our biggest, most unique, and certainly most uncommon focus areas is in teaching music theory. Contrary to popular belief, most students LOVE music theory; it is one of the most interesting puzzles ever to exist, and learning music theory often helps answer the question: “why do I need to learn algebra?” in a way that completely engages students who would previously have been convinced “I’m not a MATH person” (no such thing.)

Ukulele + voice lessons

Our ukulele and voice lessons curriculum is focused around basic chord knowledge, healthy singing (how to sing without damaging your voice), and note accuracy in singing.

One of our unique teaching approaches is to always teach voice/singing in conjunction with an instrument. The voice certainly is an instrument, but without reference to a physical instrument where the student can reference a given note or rhythm with their fingers, voice lessons can become unfocused, uninformative, or at worst, karaoke.

Bass lessons

Our bass lessons curriculum is focused around music theory, groove, versatility, and rhythm.

We teach the following concepts:

Music theory lessons

Our music theory lessons curriculum is focused around:

Teaching students the basics of scale and chord construction, and how those elements can interact and be built upon

How you can do mathematical tricks with the music

How it relates to computer language and ancient counting systems

Basic scientific theory of waves

Lightly surveying music from palistrina to present to develop good taste (we say nice things about good stuff and make fun of songs we don’t like)

In order to prove the results of our musical analysis, we compose songs; and on our good days we can compose really, really good songs.

Music theory is not boring like everybody thinks it is. Honestly, music theory isn’t even what people think it is. For example, music theory is NOT: reading music, memorization, or history. Music theory is practical math problems that require more creativity than most artistic projects (if that doesn’t totally make sense, maybe this class is for you!) Usually this takes about 8-12 lessons, but less if you already have experience playing an instrument, and more if you don’t have existing musical experience.

Silent studio rental description

The Echo Music Factory: Silent Rehearsal Studio is one of our more unique services. Normal rehearsal studios get very loud, and the loudness in conjunction with sound dampening can make your band sound totally different in rehearsal than in a live show. In this studio, we will have a special set up where each individual brings their own headphones to plug into a mixer and headphone distributor, allowing them to listen to (and record, if desired) only their own instrument. With this, your band can practice with perfect headphone clarity, and best of all, with your headphones removed, only the singer will be audible. We provide a digital piano, drums, guitar amplifiers, microphones, and vocal processors. One of our audio engineers will be available at the studio to manage all set up and assist with any technical issues, questions, or comments you may have.

Renting the studio is $50/hr with a capacity of up to five people.
