Adri's Art

I am Adriana Whitney, a self-taught artist. I was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina on a 1971 Christmas morning. I discovered art when I was around 8 years old. I grew up in a museum (my mom’s work) surrounded by famous paintings. I started drawing at the age of 10. I studied in a little atelier near my house in Buenos Aires where I learned to draw using charcoal.

I didn't know I could teach art until I had kids, now I can see in their pieces the talent they had aquired by my intruction.

My process of teaching is first to develop good drawing skills. Observing the subject and learning different texture techniques with pen and paint.

We can explore 3d works with clay, wood, fabric and 2d works with canvas and acrylic paint.

I have been exhibiting and selling my artwork in the Houston area, Galveston, Virginia, The woodlands at art shows, festivals, galleries and art shops. I have been featured in magazines and newspapers such as The Houston Chronicle, Lynchburg Living, Sunshine Art Magazine, The Leader and many other small local newspapers.
