About
With many years of teaching experience, including 20 years at Houston Community College and maintaining a private home studio for younger students, I have developed a well rounded program for students of all ages.
I also have a wide range of professional performance experiences, including, six years with the Houston Symphony. After leaving the classical music world, I worked with various local ethnic bands and now serve as artistic director for The Houston Balalaika Society Orchestra. www.houstonbalalaikasociety.org
Currently, I lead several of my own bands. You can read more about these groups on my websites

Education background: Bachelor of Music degree from Texas Tech University & a Master of Music degree from the Shepherd School of Music at Rice University
Coming from an eclectic musical background, including a strong classical training, performing ethnic music, pop/rock & jazz styles, my teaching ability is enriched by all of these experiences. I love being a coach for students pursuing any style of music and believe in developing strong fundamentals, while keeping the focus on the fun of playing your instrument. Nothing brings me greater joy than helping someone learn to play or improve on their instrument!
