Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I love to get to know my students like I would get to know a friend. It is so important to form a relationship with your students because then they trust you and growth happens twice as fast. I like to take my time and fully understand their process of learning. Every student is different and my job is to make sure they are fully comfortable with me and the learning process. In the meantime, we will also have loads of fun learning and growing as a team!
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I grew up traveling and competing as a dance competition kid my whole life. I was constantly traveling the USA competing as well as going to conventions to train under the top choreographers in the entertainment industry. I am trained in all styles including ballet, tap, jazz, contemporary, lyrical, hip hop, heels, jazz funk, pointe and more. I won Top All-American Dancer in all the USA in both 2014 and 2015. After highschool I was 1 of 18 dancers selected for an intensive training program in LA at Edge Performing Arts Center. After graduating from that program I quickly got signed to a top dance agency in LA, Go 2 Talent Agency. I then started my professional dance career.
Since dancing professionally I have danced for Hulu, Netflix, Enrique Iglesias, Aditya Birla Group in India, The World Expo in Dubai, Disney Channel, CNCO, Pretty Much, Miss Illinois USA and many more. I am still to this day working as a professional dancer and choreographer traveling the world. My next journey is teaching all I know to other passionate dancers and artists.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
I typically charge by the hour. My rate is $75 an hour but have specials and deals if you book multiple lessons at once or want to do long term retainers. I'm flexible and want to help you!
How did you get started teaching?
I have always had a love for teaching. My biggest goal in life is to open my own dance studio for kids in LA. I want kids to know that with hard-work and determination anything is possible. I started teaching students at my hometown dance studio throughout highschool and have been in love with teaching every since. I've traveled and taught masterclasses to students all over the world.
What types of students have you worked with?
I've worked with ages 3 years old to 60+ years old. I've taught all levels from beginner to professional level. I've worked with students who don't even speak english.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I just got back to the US after working and choreographing a large show for the World Expo in Dubai for 6 months. I got to work with dancers, singers, and performers from all over the world as well as famous movie director, Shekhar Kapur. It was a cast of 150 people and by far the best experience of my life.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Find someone you like as a person! You will always get the best results with someone you feel comfortable with and trust.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Ask them their teaching styles. That is number one! Also express exactly what you are looking to learn or improve in.
