Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
When working with new students, I ask them to bring any music material they may have (if none, that's totally cool!) whether it be school related, technique books, or anything relevant to trumpet or music. After hearing them play a few notes I will have a good understanding of where they are technically, and we can go from there.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Bachelor of Music with an emphasis in Commerical Music from Snow College, 2017.
Mentored by Harry Connick, Jr and Wynton Marsalis
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with complete beginners, intermediate level, and professional level players. I also have experience working with students on the spectrum.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
I would recommend looking for a teacher who currently plays the trumpet for a living and has experience with multiple styles of music.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Why do you want to play the trumpet? What made you want to play it? What are your goals?
