Vezzoso School and Let's Play Music Experience I have had my Grandson, Jackson, from the early age of 5 years old involved with LPM through Sherri Jensen for three years and he has just graduated from the LPM program. I want to say, what a wonderful experience this has been for me, myself, as well as Jackson. We have both learned very much and have had a very fun time learning together. Jackson has learned so much in music this last three years that I know will enhance his life tremendously in every aspect of school, work, and social behavior. I look forward to starting another set of LPM with my Granddaughter now. This is very exciting and Vezzoso School of Music does such a great job. All the children have had great fun together. Miss Sherri is the best.... and she relates with the children very well. Looking forward to many more years with other grandchildren. I would highly recommend Vezzoso School of Music and the LPM program to anyone who is interested in making better lives for their children.

Over the last 10 years, I have worked with 5 different teachers. Each has been of various age range, gender, and philosophy. I believe music to be of such vital importance in life that I remained determined to find someone who shared my belief that music isn’t just about an ability to play; but a critical element of brain and emotional development, a way for an individual to translate and express the inner workings of the soul. Then, I found Vezzoso and Ms. Sherri. While the program is rigorous and demanding, it has crossed every item off my “What I want in a music experience” list. She has such an incredible way of communicating with her students, providing constructive criticism and praise is perfect balance. The program and curriculum itself creates an absolutely astounding foundation and all-around strong musical understanding. My four-year-old is already signing and recognizing musical patterns and rhythms. And best of all, he loves doing it!!! While there is definitely work and learning involved, the overall process is fun and engaging. I could not be more happy here!! I feel truly lucky to have found this and now have all of my children involved. I’m excited for the gift of music, and that Ms. Sherri and her associates work so tirelessly to share their wonderful talent to enrich my family’s life.

Miss Sherri and her team are amazing teachers! Not only are they incredible musicians and teachers, but they make you feel like you’re their best friends. They're cheerful and excited about every little accomplishment but they still expect hard work and dedication. Vezzoso School of Music creates many opportunities to perform, mostly in front of peers, which helps with performance anxiety. They love their students like their own family—they have big dreams for each of them—and they give their all to help them succeed.

At Vezzoso School of Music, We teach people the fundamentals of music as a language and then build on that foundation with proficiency in piano, strings, voice or percussion which are all offered at Vezzoso School of Music.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

Our more seasoned teachers have more than 35 years of experience teaching people of all ages the musical language and then building on that foundation an ability to play one or more musical instruments of different kinds. This will translate to gaining the capacity to learning and mastering many other things in their lives.

Many of our teachers have Bachelor Degrees in Music and all the others are studying Music in a University setting.

We have teachers who are well trained in our proprietary teaching methods and can take our students to heights equal to the work they want to put in and their belief in themselves. Our standard pricing is $37.50 for a half-hour lesson and $50 for an hour lesson.

All our teachers started teaching when Music students at a University. Our teachers care for their students and have a passion for their profession and can help their students excel if that is their desire.

What types of students have you worked with?

We teach people of all ages and circumstances. We believe that all people would greatly benefit from our method of teaching and if people put in the work to practice our methods are very effective.

Describe a recent event you are fond of.

Our recitals are amazing! We have students performing well-prepared pieces on piano, strings, and percussion. We emphasize ensemble playing at our recitals so our musicians work as part of a team. We also love it when students excel by performing with multiple instruments, which is common at Vezzoso School of Music.

What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?

It is the saddest thing to encounter a person who plays an instrument well but is illiterate in the language of music. If this is the result of instruction, then that education is seriously lacking. When looking to hire a music teacher, look for one that can develop a well-rounded and capable musician, fluent in the musical language.

What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?

Music lessons should be seen as an investment in a person's life. Fluency in music as a language and proficiency with a musical instrument brings a sense of accomplishment and satisfaction that few other things in this world can bring. Students should ask themselves if they have the desire and are willing set aside the time necessary to be successful because those are all the ingredients needed to excel at Vezzoso School of Music!
