Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
At Vezzoso School of Music, We teach people the fundamentals of music as a language and then build on that foundation with proficiency in piano, strings, voice or percussion which are all offered at Vezzoso School of Music.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Our more seasoned teachers have more than 35 years of experience teaching people of all ages the musical language and then building on that foundation an ability to play one or more musical instruments of different kinds. This will translate to gaining the capacity to learning and mastering many other things in their lives.
Many of our teachers have Bachelor Degrees in Music and all the others are studying Music in a University setting.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
We have teachers who are well trained in our proprietary teaching methods and can take our students to heights equal to the work they want to put in and their belief in themselves. Our standard pricing is $37.50 for a half-hour lesson and $50 for an hour lesson.
How did you get started teaching?
All our teachers started teaching when Music students at a University. Our teachers care for their students and have a passion for their profession and can help their students excel if that is their desire.
What types of students have you worked with?
We teach people of all ages and circumstances. We believe that all people would greatly benefit from our method of teaching and if people put in the work to practice our methods are very effective.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
Our recitals are amazing! We have students performing well-prepared pieces on piano, strings, and percussion. We emphasize ensemble playing at our recitals so our musicians work as part of a team. We also love it when students excel by performing with multiple instruments, which is common at Vezzoso School of Music.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
It is the saddest thing to encounter a person who plays an instrument well but is illiterate in the language of music. If this is the result of instruction, then that education is seriously lacking. When looking to hire a music teacher, look for one that can develop a well-rounded and capable musician, fluent in the musical language.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Music lessons should be seen as an investment in a person's life. Fluency in music as a language and proficiency with a musical instrument brings a sense of accomplishment and satisfaction that few other things in this world can bring. Students should ask themselves if they have the desire and are willing set aside the time necessary to be successful because those are all the ingredients needed to excel at Vezzoso School of Music!
