I have been painting since grade school and know art can heal and help people in their lives no matter how expert they are. I take you where you are now and teach you Bob Ross style, by painting together. I teach watercolor and oil painting. Some students like to learn both.

I am a patient and encouraging expert who has teaching experience with people of all ages and ability levels.

    Mary is a wonderful teacher! Each lesson helped me focus on and improve a different skill or technique. Throughout each lesson she would offer suggestions on how to improve that painting. At the end of each lesson she would review my work with a kindly critical eye, complimenting me on what I had done well and offering helpful suggestions of ways to better my work. My skill as an artist improved immensely over the course of her instruction.

    I work with students in groups and individually and encourage them to expore their own creativity.

    Bachelor of Fine Art and 30+ years experience teaching art to all ages and ability levels.

    $20 an hour for a private lesson

    I have always been interested in art and the creative process.  I loved the classes and workshops that I took and wanted to do my own.  

    All ages and ability levels 

    Children's class of 6-9 year olds that taught them drawing skills in drawing a bird they made up in a tree they think is one the bird would like and they can include a nest the bird would make with scraps of paper and sticks glued on and eggs in the nest or baby birds. Also my teenage students enjoy composing their own collages with a theme they choose and they can get as off the wall as they want to.

    I have taught art lessons for 30+ years in public school and now that I'm retired I teach privately groups and individuals.  I provide a cheerful and safe environment for learning to occur. Parents are always welcome to observe quietly.
