Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Every license will start differently. For private pilots, I believe it is so important to get good ground knowlegde before waisting money and time in the air. I like to do a mini ground before the flight, I've seen how much it helps the students succeed. Take-offs and landing are very important to focus on very early in the game!
Instrument students: you are my favorite type of student to teach, it is such an exciting rating to work on and you'll learn so much in a short period of time. I have so many resources for my students for this training.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Flight instruction at ATP Flight School
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
30/hr
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
All three of my students passed their checkrides in a week. Two commercial and one instrument student.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Make sure you meet with them before you commit, I believe that a good relationship between an instructor and student is just as important as the flying aspect of it!
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
How often can you fly?
How much do you charge for ground lessons?
How fast can we get this done?
