I just love bringing the love of art to others and how it can bring a calmness, peace and creativiity into their lives. Everyone needs a chance to be creative and I'm so greatful for the opportunity I've had through the years to influence others in this way. It is therapuetic for me and my students!

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
We will first have a detailed conversation about the student's experience and what they are interested in learning. They are welcome to come work with me in my studio privately, in a class or workshop or I can travel for private lessons to their home.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I worked with a local artist learning oil painting and watercolors from him for over 12 years. I've been teaching for over 15 years. I have a degree in Biology and love to incorporate what I know about plants and animals into my curriculum.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
Adult lessons are typically $15 per hour plus your supplies. Children lessons are $12 per hour plus supplies. There may be additional charge for traveling to you.
How did you get started teaching?
I started teaching a few neighborhood children and now I have over 50 students a week! I started my business and website officially in 2009
What types of students have you worked with?
I've worked with children ages 2 through 18, and adults of all ages. I have had kids with disabilities such as autism, down syndrome and ADHD. Some have experience while others have never picked up a paintbrush before.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Find the teacher that you believe will work best with the skills you are interested in learning. If they have a certain style you'd like to learn than that is terrific as well. But many teachers with experience are very versatile in the styles and types of paintings or drawings they can teach so sometimes that doesn't matter as much.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
What medium are you interested in learning?
What ways would you like to improve your art?
What processes or techniques are you wanting to try?
